A few Words about Text    searchable   PDF files

All our PDF files are delivered in text searchable format, this means that you can search for any word, phrase, part of word etc.

This is done by passing the scanned image through a character recognition program "OCR", and in our documents we employ the "searchable image exact" variation of searchable PDF's. this variation leaves the image file intact.

You can use either Acrobat reader 5.0  6.0 or 7.0  for searching documents for text occurrences , but using version 6.0 and 7.0 extends the search function to the bookmarks area, thus extending the ease of locating text.

In the following examples we show you how this is done in both Acrobat versions.

Our customers cannot be wrong.....

Acrobat 5.0

Find window

You can use the "find" function (Menu - Edit - Find) or use the binocular tool directly, and enter the find criteria.

In this find we entered the phrase " Frequency span"

Acrobat 5.0

Results - Find again

You can use the " find again " button once a result is displayed to skip to the next search phrase occurrence

Acrobat 6.0

Search - results window -

With 6.0 things are a lot more easier, on the top right hand corner, there is a window to accept our search criteria again "frequency span" was used

Once matches are found a small window gives the information of the total matches found, and below it another window with all matches listed, just pick the one you want, double click on it, and the page will appear in the middle of the screen,

To initiate a new search push the button new search, and start all over

Acrobat 6.0

4th match selection

Here we selected the 4th result from the results window, the corresponding page appeared in the middle of the screen.

As it was mentioned before with reader 6.0 and above, you can extend the search to the bookmarks area as well.
